- Other options include divorce documents, powers of attorney and wills.
Good to know
Not sure which option fits your document? See our Pricing & Fees page before you book.

2
Add Extras Optional
Only if you need them. With one document and an emailed copy, simply skip this step.
What happens
- Additional documents: for example, two travel consent letters for two children, or several CCDC 9A forms.
- A printed copy with a gold seal, mailed to you in an envelope, for clients who want the paper original in hand.
Good to know
Extras are optional, and their prices are shown before you pay.
-
3
Pick a Date and Time
Choose a free slot in the calendar. Online booking is open 24/7, with no account and no password.
What happens
- Choose the day, then the time that suits you.
- Most appointments take around 10 minutes, depending on complexity.
Good to know
Pick a time when you can sit somewhere quiet, with good light for your camera.
-
4
Enter Your Details and Signers
Enter your first and last name, and the province and city where you are.
What happens
- Signing alone? There is nothing else to choose.
- Two signers? Select two signers: for example, an immigration form signed by both partners, or a family member gifting a vehicle in Ontario.
- Every signer joins the video call and shows their own photo ID.
Good to know
Enter each name exactly as it appears on that person’s photo ID.
-
5
Upload Your Document and ID
Upload your document in the left box, and a photo of your passport or driver’s licence in the right box.
What happens
- We accept PDF, Word (DOC, DOCX), Excel, PowerPoint and images (PNG, JPG), up to 50 MB per file.
- Upload the document unsigned. You sign it on the call.
- A clear phone photo of your ID is fine, as long as nothing is cut off.

Free Official Forms
Need the Form Before You Book?
Many government and court forms are free. Download the official form, fill it in on your computer, leave the signature blank, and upload it when you book.
Is this legal?
Yes. Ontario Law Allows Remote Commissioning.
Ontario Regulation 431/20, Administering Oath or Declaration Remotely, made under the Commissioners for Taking Affidavits Act, allows a commissioner to administer an oath or declaration by live video. You and your commissioner see and hear each other in real time, and your identity is confirmed before you sign.
Honest about what we can’t do online
Certified true copies and other acts that Ontario law reserves for a notary public in person can’t be done by video. Wills and powers of attorney follow a separate process.
Wills & powers of attorney →Will my document be accepted?
Documents commissioned in Ontario are accepted by many institutions across Canada and abroad. The final decision always belongs to the office that receives your document, so if you are unsure, ask them before you book.
Who accepts our documents →Your Documents and Payment, Handled Safely
Encrypted connection
Our website and your uploads travel over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
Payments by Stripe
Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Secure e-signing
Documents are signed on a secure e-signing platform that keeps a time-stamped record of every signature.
A private link for every call
Each appointment has its own video link, sent to the email address you booked with.

Common Worries, Answered
Is a document commissioned online as valid as one signed in person?
Ontario Regulation 431/20 allows oaths and declarations to be administered by live video, under the same Commissioners for Taking Affidavits Act that governs in-person commissioning. Whether a particular office accepts your document is up to that office, so if you are unsure, check with them before you book.
I’m not good with technology. Can I still do this?
Yes. If you can join a video call on your phone or computer, you can do this. Your commissioner guides you through every step on the call.
Who sees my ID and my document?
Your commissioner reviews them to complete your appointment. We keep your information confidential and handle it as described in our Privacy Policy.
Can two people sign at the same appointment?
Yes. Select two signers when you enter your details. Each signer joins the video call and shows their own photo ID.
Can I get a paper copy?
Yes. When booking, add a printed copy with a gold seal as an extra, and we will mail it to you in an envelope.
What can’t be done online?
Certified true copies and other acts that Ontario law reserves for a notary public in person can’t be done by video. Wills and powers of attorney follow a separate process.
