Refund & Acceptance Policy

1. Client Responsibility for Document Acceptance

At North Notary, we ensure that all remote online notarizations and commissioning services strictly comply with applicable provincial laws and regulations. However, third-party institutions (such as banks, lenders, courts, or foreign entities) may have their own internal policies regarding digital documents and electronic signatures.

Duty to Verify: It is the client’s sole responsibility to confirm with the intended recipient that remotely notarized/commissioned documents and electronic signatures will be accepted for their specific transaction prior to booking an appointment.

Non-Refundable Circumstances: Once a notarization session has been successfully conducted, fees are non-refundable if the receiving institution refuses the document due to their internal refusal of electronic signatures or remote commissioning.

2. Our Accuracy Guarantee (Notary Errors)

We take pride in precision and professionalism. If a document is rejected by a receiving party due to a direct clerical error, omission, or technical defect made by our notary:

Free Correction: We will correct and re-commission the document at no additional cost.

Full Refund: If the error cannot be rectified or if the re-commissioned document is still rejected due to our mistake, we will issue a 100% full refund of the notarization fee.

To claim a refund under our Accuracy Guarantee, please notify us within 30 days of your appointment and provide written documentation or communication from the receiving party detailing the reason for rejection.

Important Notice Regarding Third-Party Acceptance

Before booking your appointment, please verify that the receiving party (e.g., bank, court, government agency, or institution) accepts remotely commissioned and electronically signed documents. North Notary is responsible for the legal validity of the notarization process itself, but we cannot guarantee that a specific institution’s internal policies will accept e-signatures. Once a notarization session is completed, fees are non-refundable if the document is rejected solely due to third-party e-signature policies.
