The document that formally transfers ownership of a vehicle from a seller to a buyer, notarized over a secure video call.

Book an Appointment

A notarized bill of sale gives both the buyer and seller a sworn, dated record of the transaction — useful for registering the vehicle, resolving any future dispute, and satisfying ServiceOntario or an insurer that the sale genuinely took place as described.

Both parties join the same video appointment, or sign in separate sessions if that suits their schedules better. Each signs live in front of the commissioner, who verifies photo ID and applies the seal to the completed document.

This service is provided in accordance with Ontario Regulation 431/20. We commission the bill of sale as presented; we do not advise on vehicle pricing, safety standards, or transfer tax obligations.

Bill of Sale for Vehicle FAQ

Do both the buyer and seller need to be on the call?

They can join the same appointment or sign separately — whichever is more convenient.

Is a notarized bill of sale required by ServiceOntario?

Requirements vary by transaction; a sworn bill of sale is widely accepted as proof of a private sale.

Can this cover a gift between family members instead of a sale?

A gift transfer uses a different sworn statement — ask us and we will point you to the right one.
