Affidavit of Publication — Commissioned Online
A sworn statement from a publisher confirming that a legal notice or advertisement appeared in a newspaper or publication.
Some legal processes require a notice to be published, such as an estate notice, a corporate notice or a notice required by a court. The affidavit of publication proves that the notice ran, where and on which dates.
It is signed by someone at the publication, such as an editor, manager or authorized staff member. They join the video call from the office, show their photo ID and sign while the commissioner watches. A copy of the published notice can be attached as an exhibit.
Commissioned in accordance with O. Reg. 431/20. We commission the affidavit as written and do not review the notice itself.
