A sworn declaration of income a student earned outside Canada, or income that was not taxed in Canada.

Income earned abroad, or income that does not appear on a Canadian tax return, cannot be confirmed by the usual tax records. OSAP may ask you to declare it in a sworn affidavit instead.

This is common for students who worked overseas during a gap year, newcomers in their first years in Canada, and students with non-taxable income. You can join the video call from wherever you are, including from outside Canada.

Commissioned in accordance with O. Reg. 431/20. We do not advise on how foreign income is treated for OSAP purposes.
