Cohabitation Agreement — Notarized Online in Ontario
A contract between a couple living together, or about to, that outlines how assets and debts will be managed, witnessed over a secure video call.
Couples moving in together, or already living together, often put a Cohabitation Agreement in place to clarify how property, debt, and finances will be handled — both during the relationship and if it ends. It is one of the more common agreements we witness for common-law couples in Ontario.
Both partners join the video appointment along with the required independent witnesses. Photo ID is verified for each party before signing, and the witnesses confirm the act on camera.
Notarized in accordance with O. Reg. 431/20. We do not draft the agreement's terms or advise on what it should include — independent legal advice for each partner is strongly recommended beforehand.
