Affidavit Exhibits for Court — Commissioned Online in Ontario
Exhibits are the supporting documents attached to an affidavit, such as letters, emails, photos or records. Each one is marked and signed by the commissioner at the same video appointment as your affidavit.
When an affidavit refers to supporting documents, such as emails, bank statements, photos, contracts or medical records, those documents are attached as exhibits and labelled in order: Exhibit A, Exhibit B, Exhibit C, and so on. Ontario courts expect each exhibit to carry an exhibit stamp: a short certificate confirming that it is the exhibit referred to in your affidavit, signed by the commissioner before whom the affidavit was sworn.
To have your affidavit and exhibits commissioned online, upload the unsigned affidavit together with all of its exhibits, in the order the affidavit refers to them, ideally as one PDF. During the video call you swear or affirm your affidavit, and the commissioner marks and signs each exhibit. The completed affidavit with its exhibits is sent to you by email.
Your affidavit is booked as the main document ($39.95 CAD), and each exhibit as an additional document ($30.95 CAD each). For example, an affidavit with three exhibits is $39.95 + 3 × $30.95 = $132.80 CAD + HST. Appointments are conducted in accordance with Ontario Regulation 431/20. We do not draft affidavits, choose exhibits or give legal advice on what your court matter requires.
Affidavit Exhibits for Court FAQ
Does every exhibit need to be stamped by the commissioner?
Yes. In Ontario court practice, each exhibit is marked with an exhibit stamp and signed by the commissioner who administered the oath or affirmation for the affidavit.
How should I prepare my exhibits before the appointment?
Label them in the order your affidavit refers to them (Exhibit A, B, C), leave some blank space on the first page of each exhibit for the stamp, and upload them together with your unsigned affidavit.
Can I get a printed copy with original seals for filing?
Yes. Add a printed copy with a seal and mailing as add-ons when you book. Please check first whether your court accepts electronic filing.
