Letter of Authorization — Notarized Online
A notarized document giving a third party the authority to act on your behalf for a specific task, signed over a secure video call.
A Letter of Authorization is a flexible document used any time you need to formally hand a specific task to someone else — picking up a parcel or document on your behalf, representing you at an appointment, or handling a narrow piece of business while you are unavailable. A notarized version carries more weight than a plain signed note.
Bring the letter to your appointment unsigned. The commissioner verifies your photo ID, witnesses your signature, and applies the seal, giving the person you are authorizing a document institutions are more likely to accept without question.
Notarized in accordance with O. Reg. 431/20. We do not draft the letter's wording or advise on what authority it should grant — that is between you and the person or institution it is intended for.
